Nixa broke open a tie game with eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, to beat the Republic Legion rookie team, 12-4, in district play at Nixa. The Tigers had come back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game against the heavily favored Eagles in the top of the 5th.
The loss ends the season for Republic. Taylor Kirby, Cole Hurst and Justin Calhoun will compete in the Legion Freshman/Rookie All-Star Game Thursday night.
