Republic’s Payton Rayl shot an 88 Monday, during the first day of the Class 2 state golf championship at Fremont Hills Country Club. She’s tied for 29th at the halfway point of the tournament. Freshman Allison Quigley shot a 105.
McCall Christopher of Lee’s Summit North leads the pack after one day, with a score of 73. That gives her a six-shot lead over the rest of the field.
Play resumes Tuesday at Fremont Hills.
