Willard had four players in double-figures, including Sammie Gathercole with 18 points, as they edged Republic in the Pink & White Tournament consolation bracket, 58-52. Courtney Wallace, Brook Duncan and Amanda Allen also scored in double figures for Willard.
Republic led 10-7 after one quarter, and went into the locker room at halftime tied at 18. But Willard outscored the Lady Tigers 16-11 in the 3rd quarter, and hit 14 of 17 free throws down the stretch to clinch the win.
Payton Rayl led the way for Republic with 14 points. Kyra Ramsey had 12 and Courtney Gardner had 7 points for the Lady Tigers. Jayme Sifferman and Elle Aston scored 5 points, Alex Botkin scored 4, and Carlie Campbell scored 3. Kyla Feith added 2 points.
Republic has lost three straight to fall to 5-4, after opening the season by winning five of its first six games.
