Tigers Pull Away at Marshfield

The Republic Tigers dominated the 4th quarter, pulling away in a close game for a 69-49 win over Marshfield Friday night.  The Tigers trailed 32-28 at halftime, but outscored the Blue Jays 22-13 in the 3rd quarter to take a 5-point lead.  Republic turned it on in the final period, outscoring Marshfield 19-4, to account for the final 20-point margin.

Sophomore Nick Yocum led Republic with 18 points.  Two other Tigers scored in double figures – Josh Morrow with 14 and Dylan Fletcher with 11.

Utah Findley scored 18 points to lead Marshfield.

The win improves Republic’s overall record to 10-3.  They’re 2-1 in the Central Ozark Conference.

    The tigers are actually 10-3 and have a 2-1 record in COC conference play. They have defeated Carthage and Marshfield, and lost to Neosho. The other 2 losses are Strafford and Rogers, Ark.
