Tigers Split Games in Tournament

The Republic Tigers split two games during the Springfield Red and Blue Classic Friday. The Tigers beat Blue Springs 4-3, and lost to Glendale 4-2.

In the first game, starting pitcher Tyler King struck out 13 batters in six innings. A triple by Brock Robbins and a double by Wes Holmes scored two runs to help the Tigers overcome a 3-2 deficit. Blaze Carano pitched a scoreless seventh inning to pick up the save.

In game two, the Tigers jumped on top thanks to back-to-back RBI doubles by Robbins and Holmes, but Glendale regained the lead and held on for the victory. Robbins pitched a complete game, suffering the loss.

Republic is back in action Saturday at 11:45 against Rolla. The game will be played at Glendale.
