Lady Tigers Compete at State Track Meet

Two Lady Tigers will be competing in the state track meet this week in Jefferson City.

Sharla Friend cleared 5’2″ in the high jump at the sectional meet in Marshfield last week to take first place. She and three others from the sectional will move on to Jefferson City. Her jump of 5’2″ puts her in a tie for fourth among all the high-jumpers who qualified for state. Morgan Whitson of Moberly cleared 5’8″ in her sectional meet, edging out Camille Hackamack of Hannibal, at 5’7″.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Alex Botkin finished third at sectionals, with a time of 48.87. Korie Johnson of Carl Junction and Taylor Conley of Osage finished ahead of her.

Botkin will compete in her preliminary race Friday afternoon in Jefferson City. Friend will compete in the high jump on Saturday.
