The Lady Tigers scored the first 11 points of the game and were never seriously challenged in a 70-39 win over Waynesville Tuesday.
Republic led 20-8 at one point, and 22-11 by the end of the first quarter. It was 41-24 at halftime. The Lady Tigers stretched the lead to 58-30 after three quarters, and played most of the final quarter with a continuously running clock.
Alice Heinzler led all scorers with 20 points for the Lady Tigers. Brooke Dutton scored 14, including four 3-pointers. Alexis Edwards scored 9 points, Alex Botkin scored 8, and Kayla Bartelsmeyer had 5. Taylor Wells, Lindsey Carlson and Sarah Kreul had 4 points apiece. Kailey Mathis scored 2.
The Lady Tigers improve to 15-6. They’re back in action at home Thursday night against Nixa. That will be Senior Night for Republic, when the Lady Tigers will honor five seniors: Mercedes Doty, Brooke Dutton, Alexis Edwards, Kailey Mathis, and Taylor Wells.
