When you win a state championship, the postseason honors are bound to roll in. They did for Republic’s girls basketball team, and for its coach, Kris Flood. Flood was named the Class 4 Coach of the Year by two different groups: Missouri’s newspaper writers and broadcasters, and the state basketball coaches association.
2012 marked the second state championship for the Republic girls with Flood as their head coach. The Lady Tigers also won the title in 2004. In two trips to the Final Four under Flood’s leadership, Republic has gone 4-0.
