Quigley, Rayl Improve at State Tournament

Golf copyBoth Republic Lady Tigers at the state golf tournament turned in better performances on the second and final day of competition in Cape Girardeau Tuesday.

Allison Quigley shot an 87 on day two, to finish with an overall score of 184 on a very difficult course. That put her in 30th place overall.

Baylee Rayl shot an 88 on Tuesday, and finished with a 191 overall score. That put her in 42nd place overall for the tournament.

For Quigley, it was her fourth straight appearance at the state golf tournament. She’s the second Republic golfer to accomplish that, joining Payton Rayl.

Amanda Kim of Fort Zumwalt South won the Class 2 individual title with a 153. Columbia Rock Bridge won the team championship.
