Ryan Way, Megan Hergesheimer, and Kayla Bartelsmeyer are all headed to the state cross-country meet. The three qualified during sectionals Saturday at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton.
Way finished 8th overall with a time of 16:05.16. Republic’s other sectional runner, Philip Canfield, missed qualifying for state, but finished 42nd out of 77 runners as a freshman.
In the girls race, freshman Megan Hergesheimer finished 15th out of 73 runners, with a time of 19:29.21. Senior Kayla Bartelsmeyer punched her ticket to state with a time of 20:08.52. That was good for 27th overall, with the top 30 qualifying.
The state meet will be held in Jefferson City on Saturday, November 3rd.
