Three Lady Tigers volleyball players have earned a place on the All-Central Ozark Conference team. They’re led by senior Lexi Birlew, Republic’s leader in kills, who was named to the 1st team. Birlew tallied 255 kills on the season, to go along with a .176 hitting percentage. She added 23 blocks, 320 digs, and 16 service aces.
Fellow senior Maddy Sherman, who served as an anchor for the Lady Tigers’ defense at the libero position, was named to the 2nd team. Sherman had 496 digs for the year, an average of 6.3 per set. She also added 38 service aces.
Setter Emily Preston, who distributed the ball for Republic’s fast-paced offensive attack, earned honorable mention. Preston averaged 8.3 assists per set (654 total). She had 55 kills and 19 service aces, and also contributed 160 digs defensively.
