Eby Extends Scoreless Streak to Beat Cassville

Dustin Eby extended his scoreless-innings streak on the mound to 13, as Republic knocked off Cassville 3-0 at home Tuesday. Eby pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just two base hits, walking four, and striking out five. Chandler Coates struck out the side in a scoreless 7th inning to get the save.

Republic jumped ahead 1-0 in the 1st inning when Creed Smiley walked leading off, advanced to 3rd on a single by Austin Beckner, and scored when Dustin Eby reached on an error.

The Tigers picked up two insurance runs in the 6th. Beckner walked to lead off, Eby grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Jake Smith tripled home Eby. Coates drove in a run during the next at-bat with a groundout to the right side.

The win evens Republic’s record at 4-4. Cassville falls to 5-5.
