Creed Smiley led off the game with a home run for the second time this season, as the Tigers toppled Mount Vernon on the road Saturday, 4-3.
Republic led 1-0 after a half-inning, but the big blow came in the bottom of the 5th, when Austin Beckner slugged a bases-loaded double to score three more.
The win improves Republic’s record to 7-6.
