The baseball Tigers picked up two more wins Saturday — 9-3 against Aurora and 6-5 against Camdenton — to run their winning streak to four games and improve to 6-4 overall. Their win over Camdenton featured a three-run rally in the bottom of the 7th, including a double-steal to win the game.

In their first game of the day against Aurora, Austin Beckner homered, doubled twice, and struck out eleven Houn’ Dawgs in six innings to earn the victory on the mound. Beckner allowed three runs, just one of them earned in six innings. He walked two and allowed six hits.  At the plate, he drove in two runs and scored two.

Jansen McQuerter pitched the final inning for the Tigers.

Creed Smiley also had two hits for the Tigers.

In the nightcap, the Tigers trailed 5-3 heading into the home half of the 7th inning. Riley Crews drew a walk and was forced out at 2nd on a fielder’s choice. After Creed Smiley singled to left field, Parker Nelson doubled to center, scoring two runs and tying the game at 5-5.

Nelson advanced to 3rd on a groundout. The Lakers walked Beckner intentionally, and when he stole 2nd, Nelson broke for home, scoring the winning run.

Nelson also picked up the win in relief. He had pitched a scoreless inning in the top of the 7th to keep Camdenton in striking distance.

Chandler Coates started the game, allowing three runs on six hits, walking seven and striking out six. Jansen McQuerter allowed two runs in an inning of relief.
