Tigers Pound Cubs to Even Record

Republic knocked around Monett in an 11-1  home win Friday. The Tigers racked up 10 hits and also drew 10 walks from Monett pitchers in the six-inning victory.

Parker Nelson, Jake Smith, Austin Beckner, and Regan Butterworth each had two hits for the Tigers. Smith drove in three runs and scored another. Nelson, Cole Hurst, and Alex Reynolds scored two runs apiece.

Dustin Eby picked up the win on the mound, going all six innings. He allowed one run on four hits, struck out four, and didn’t walk a batter. Jason Kurima took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits and walking four in just 1 1/3 innings.

The win evens Republic’s record at 9-9.  They play again Tuesday at home against Nixa.
