The Lady Tigers golf team had its best outing of the year in difficult conditions at the Willard Tournament, finishing 5th out of 14 teams. Katie Hamilton became the first Republic golfer to medal in a tournament this season, taking 10th overall with a score of 92.
Caroline Blanford finished 11th with a career-best score of 94. Vanessa Nimmo tied her career low score with a 97. Emma Blanford rounded out the team score with a 100, giving Republic a total of 383. Holly Casagrand also finished with her career low score.
“I was proud of the girls for playing so well in the difficult conditions today,” says coach Curt Plotner. “Nobody wants to play in the rain when its 50 degrees.”
Glendale’s Sun Yung was the overall individual champ with a score of 71. Rogersville won the team championship with a score of 355.
