Republic remains in first place in the standings for Class 5 District 5 through six weeks. The Tigers are 4-2, with a 2-0 record against teams in their district (Ozark and Branson).
Ozark (3-3) and Nixa (2-4) are second and third, with nearly identical ratings. Parkview is fourth, followed by Branson, Glendale, and Central.
With seven teams in the district, the top seed is in line for a bye in the first round.
Carthage and Willard, Republic’s next opponent, are tied for first place in District 6. The winner of that district would face the winner of Republic’s district in the state quarterfinals.
