Defense Dominates in Lady Tigers’ Win

The Lady Tigers allowed just one field goal in the first quarter and cruised to a 56-27 win over Pittsburg, Kansas, Friday at the Carthage tournament. It was the second dominating performance in a row for Republic, who allowed just 22 points against Joplin on Thursday.

Jordan Kabetske and Brooke Stanfield each scored 11 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Tori Taylor added ten. Logan Flood scored nine, Jade Sawyer scored eight, Brylee Argo had four, and Michayla Shanks had three points for Republic.

The Lady Tigers led 13-2 after one quarter, and 29-10 at halftime.

Republic advances to the championship game of the tournament Saturday at 3 pm. The Lady Tigers will meet West Plains for the title.

Republic is now 14-2.
