Three Lady Tigers scored in double figures as Republic romped past Carthage 83-46 Monday night. It was the biggest offensive output of the season for Republic, which opened Central Ozark Conference play with a win. Brooke Stanfield scored 17 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Brylee Argo scored 15 and Jordan Kabetske added ten.
Republic, playing its third game in four days, jumped on top from almost the start. The Lady Tigers led 22-12 at the end of the first quarter and 41-25 at halftime. In the third quarter, Republic put the game away by outscoring Carthage 27-8. Stanfield had eight in the quarter and Logan Flood had seven of her nine points during the eight-minute stretch.
Coach Kris Flood says he was happy with the way his Lady Tigers bounced back from two tough games against quality opponents in Kansas City over the weekend.
“We talked before the game that was one of the things I was going to look for is how did we respond after a very good weekend? We had two very physical, emotional games,” he says. “We wanted to get off to a good start in conference and we did that. For the most part, I was pretty pleased.”

Other scoring for Republic included Michayla Shanks with eight points, Jade Sawyer with seven, Alexis Ladwig with five, Micah Mansker and Tori Taylor with four, and Allyson Barrett with two.
Republic improves to 11-2 overall. Carthage falls to 4-9.
The Republic freshmen won 52-0. The JV team won 56-8.
