Piles, Noblitt, Sandridge Lead Tigers at Republic Invitational

Shayne Piles, Austin Noblitt, and Cody Sandridge won individual championships at the Republic Invitational Saturday, leading the Tigers to a second-place team finish. Willard won the team championship, and Rolla finished third out of 16 teams.

Piles won the 285-pound division by fall in the championship match. Sandridge won at 152 by injury default over Willard’s Kyle Caldwell. Noblitt won the championship in the 182-pound division with a 4-3 decision over Willard’s John Smart.

Hunter Powell finished fourth at 113. Johnathon Beckett was third at 120. Christian Richardson was the runner-up in the 132-pound weight class, losing to Aaron Grigsby of Bentonville (Ark.) in the finals. Hunter Pyle also finished second at 170 pounds. He lost in the finals to Seth Veatch of Rolla in the championship match. Zach Dickens finished fifth at 195, and Zac Crowley was fifth at 220.
