The Tiger wrestlers tuned up for their home tournament Saturday with a pair of duals against out-of-town opponents — and they came away with two victories.
Republic opened the night with an easy victory over Fort Zumwalt East, winning 54-13. The Tigers lost only three matches in that dual.
The second dual of the night, against Rogers (Ark.) Heritage, came down to the wire, with the Tigers winning 45-33. Tiger wrestlers Hunter Powell, Johnathon Beckett, Ian Malone, Zach Dickens, and Shayne Piles won by fall in their matches.
The Tigers will be back on the mat Saturday for the 16-team Republic Invitational. Fort Zumwalt East and Heritage will compete, along with Bentonville (Ark.) and a field of local teams.
