The Bolivar Liberators used a pair of three-run innings to power their way past Republic Friday, 7-4.

Republic had jumped on top with two runs in the top of the 1st inning and looked to be in control until Bolivar broke out with three runs in the 3rd. The Liberators added a single run in the 4th and three more in the 6th to take a 7-2 lead.

The Tigers made a game of it with two runs in the bottom of the 6th, on an RBI single by Regan Butterworth and a sacrifice fly by Gage Morris. Republic brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 7th but couldn’t get the big hit it needed.

Camden Burns picked up the win on the mound for Bolivar, pitching five innings, and allowing just two unearned runs. He struck out five and walked six.  Alex Reynolds took the loss for Republic, allowing four earned runs on ten hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Republic falls to 10-3 this season. The Tigers are home against Neosho for a Central Ozark Conference game Tuesday.
