The Lady Tigers golf team came charging out of the gate for its 2015 season with a second-place finish at the Seymour Tournament in Marshfield Thursday. Of the 20-team field, only Nixa turned in a better overall score. Republic finished with a 369.
Katie Hamilton led the Lady Tigers with a score of 83, good for 6th place overall. Behind Hamilton, the Lady Tigers exhibited some of the balance coach Curt Plotner expected before the season began.
Madison Beckham finished 15th with a 94. Caroline Blanford was just one stroke behind her with a 95. Emma Blanford shot a 97.
The Lady Tigers are back in action Tuesday at 3:30 at Stewart Golf Course in Springfield, when they’ll compete against Springfield Glendale and Springfield Central.
