The Republic soccer team didn’t give up a goal against any of its three opponents during their pre-season jamboree in Neosho Friday night. The Tigers beat Aurora 6-0, shut out College Heights 2-0, and beat the host Wildcats 1-0.
Coach David Ashby says he was pleased with the way the team played in their first test of the season against real opponents.
“(We) moved the ball around very well at times,” he says. “Team chemistry was great. Overall, (I’m) very happy.”
The Tigers open their season on Tuesday, August 25, at Monett.
