As the leading scorer on a state basketball quarterfinalist, it wasn’t surprising to see Brooke Stanfield show up in the all-state listings after the season ended. Stanfield led the Lady Tigers with 12 points and five rebounds a game. She made 58% of her shots from the floor. Stanfield also played a big role in the Lady Tigers’ pressure defense with a team-leading 61 steals. She added 43 assists.

But Stanfield wasn’t done when basketball season ended. Despite slipping on one of her jumps and hurting her knee, she still jumped high enough to tie for 4th place in Class 4 in the high jump. The high finish was disappointing for Stanfield, who had set a new school record with an even high jump earlier in the season — but it was still enough to earn her all-state recognition for the second time in a year, becoming one of the few Republic athletes to ever accomplish that feat.
