Golfers Take 3rd at Ozark Invitational

The Lady Tigers didn’t turn in the balanced performance that has marked their play for most of the young season, but they were still good enough to finish 3rd out of 15 teams at the Ozark Tournament Thursday.

Katie Hamilton finished 3rd overall.

Katie Hamilton led the way for Republic with an 85. That was good enough for third place overall among individuals. Caroline Blanford finished with a 99, putting her in 12th place.

No one else in Republic’s lineup broke 100, but coach Curt Plotner says the higher scores are attributable to the course at Fremont Hills. Plotner says it’s the most difficult course on the schedule for the Lady Tigers.

Republic’s team score of 406 was six strokes behind Joplin for 2nd place. Nixa won the event with a team score of 364.

Republic plays next on September 14th at the Jim Pearson Invitational at Horton Smith.
