Lady Tigers Stay Hot; Storm Through Opening Day at Ozark

Two more games, two more wins for the Lady Tigers softball team. Republic beat Carthage and Lebanon in their two opening games at the Ozark Fall Festival Tournament.

In their first game, Kami Holt homered (her seventh of the season) and drove in two runs, Rachel Rook struck out eight and allowed just four hits, as the Lady Tigers beat Carthage 3-0. It was the second win over Carthage this season for Republic.

The Lady Tigers scored three times in the bottom of the first inning. Lauren Strobel walked and scored on an error, then Holt slugged a two-run homer. That was all the scoring Republic would get, and it was more than enough for Rook, who pitched her second consecutive shutout.
