Seniors Shine in Volleyball Victory

Republic’s volleyball seniors stepped up in their final match on their home court, leading the Lady Tigers to a blowout win over Webb City Tuesday night, 25-5 25-17.

Before the match, the Lady Tigers honored five seniors––Madi Lormand, Mikayla Botkin, Brooke Stanfield, Alexis Ladwig, and Logan Flood. Coach Piper Wright says despite a difficult senior season, the seniors have continued to set an example for underclassmen in the program.

“This has been such a phenomenal group–just their leadership on and off the court is outstanding. They’re just great kids,” Wright says. “We have struggled a lot this year, and they have kept a positive attitude and they’ve continued to work hard every day in practice and not give up. That can be really hard to do when, throughout the rest of your years you’ve been very successful. I could not be more proud of them.”

Stanfield recorded nine kills to lead the Lady Tigers, and Ladwig also had a big offensive game. Mikayla Botkin led the team with 17 assists. Eryn Russell had ten digs to lead Republic, and Alli Wright had three service aces.

Republic improves to 10-15-3 overall. They’re 2-5 in the Central Ozark Conference.

The junior varsity team won 25-9 25-18. Republic’s freshmen lost 20-25 25-21 25-20.
