On the eve of the Republic Invitational, the Tiger wrestlers warmed up with two more dual victories.
The Tigers welcomed Raytown South and Heritage, Ark., to town Friday. Both teams will be competing in the tournament Saturday, and faced off against Republic on Friday night after traveling to southwest Missouri a day early.
Republic beat Raytown South 48-21. Hunter Powell, Johnathon Beckett, Brandon O’Connell, Michael Cox, and Shayne Piles each won by pin. Michael Taylor and Julian Richardson won by forfeit.
The Tigers followed that up with a win over Heritage, 52-28. O’Connell, Cox, Hunter Pyle, Richardson, and Piles won by pin. Michael Taylor, Sean Cross, Johnny Rexroat each won by forfeit, and Johnathon Beckett won on points.
In addition to competing in the tournament, Republic will honor its senior wrestlers Saturday afternoon.
