Photos: Special Olympics vs McDonald County

Republic’s Tigers hosted McDonald County in a Special Olympics basketball game Tuesday. The photo gallery is below.

On Tuesday February 16th, the Republic Special Olympics Tigers Basketball team played host to the McDonald County Mustang Stampede. In the first of two games, the Tigers won 25-16. Kaya McClintock led the scoring with 6 points. Sophomores Larissa Williams and McKae Geromini netted 6 points and 4 points. Kyle Akin and Eric Akin netted 4 points and 3 points respectively. Eric Whillock added a basket, while Kaden Coatney, Kaden Hill, and Samuel Ard provided the Tigers with stellar performances on the defensive end.

In game two, Josh Bean netted 6 points in a game that saw the Tigers fall 20-8 to the Mustang Stampede. Desiree Long scored two points, both she and Kali Foster turned in solid defensive efforts.

On Thursday February 25th, the Republic Special Olympics Tigers traveled to McDonald County to take on the Mustang Stampede. The teams played two contests, with the Tigers taking the first game 20-16, and the Mustang Stampede taking the second contest 20-12.
Some highlights of the contributions from RepMo athletes: Kaya McClintock scored 4 points, Samuel Ard had 4 points, a steal and 2 rebounds, Lorenzo Trabue and Madison Ard had 4 rebounds and 3 rebounds each. Kaden Hill and Kaden Coatney had 3 rebs and 2
rebounds respectively. Eric Whillock had 1 steal and 1 rebound. Nikki Williams had 4 points, Eric Travis, Riley Hesterly, Kali Foster, and Desiree Long each scored a basket
in the second contest.
