Republic Honors All-State Speedster Ellison

12633326_1161282440549676_512310169_oRepublic has honored one of the fastest Tigers ever to put on a pair of cleats. Tryston Ellison’s all-state plaque will hang above the trophy case alongside other Tiger greats. Ellison participated all four years in football and track.

He lettered three seasons in track, and he was named All-Conference during his junior and senior years. As a junior, Ellison finished 3rd in the 100-meter dash at the Central Ozark Conference meet. He was runner-up in that event as a senior. He was named the Most Outstanding Sprinter for the Tigers his sophomore and senior years.

As a senior, Ellison anchored the 4×100-meter relay team which also included Jace Duvall, Jerney Jones, and Jake Jones. That relay team set the school record with a time of 43.51 seconds. He finished his senior year with all-district and all-state honors. In the state meet, Ellison posted a qualifying time of 10.79 in the 100-meter dash. In the finals, he finished third and received the bronze medal in Class 4 with a time of 10.93.

Ellison lettered three times for the Tigers in football, where he was a two-year starter at running back and defensive back.
