Lady Tigers Deliver Win #100 for Hauck

Republic’s offense exploded for four 1st-half goals as the Lady Tigers cruised to a 5–0 win over Marshfield at home Thursday night. The night marked career victory #100 for Kevin Hauck as a girls head soccer coach. He was also celebrating a birthday.

Emily Jordan scored twice in the first half for Republic. Emily Griffith got her second goal of the year, and Brittany Rayburn – just a game after picking up her first assist – nabbed her first-ever varsity goal.

“Brittany really has come a long way throughout the season. She’s really been working hard,” says coach Kevin Hauck. “The one thing I think Brittany does well is she puts herself in a position to be able to finish and to be able to score goals off of rebounds, or ‘picking up the trash.’ She was able to get one tonight from doing that.”

Jade Sawyer added a goal in the second half – her first of the season – to account for the final 5–0 score.

After the game, the Lady Tigers doused Hauck with the water cooler before presenting him with cupcakes to celebrate his 100th victory.

“That really meant a lot to me. From the beginning of the year, this bond we’ve had was really special. I felt like it was going to continue to grow for us, and it did,” says Hauck, who joined the Lady Tigers in the off-season.

“Even though it’s my first year here, the girls and I feel like this is a family. I’m really proud of them; where we were at the beginning of the year and where we are now. It means a lot to me that they were this happy.”

Republic is now 10–7. They go on the road to Branson next Wednesday.
