Tigers’ Late Explosion Puts Away Wildcats

Republic rebounded from a rough weekend with a convincing win on the road at Rogersville Tuesday, whipping the Wildcats 13-0. The Tigers scored eight runs in the top of the 7th inning to turn the game into a rout.

The Tigers didn’t need much offense, thanks to the pitching performance of Jansen McQuerter. He pitched a complete-game shutout. The performance lowered his season earned run average to 1.94.

Ryan Cape and Landin Sigman had three hits apiece for the Tigers. Sigman and Austin Atkins both drove in two runs.

McQuerter and the other seniors will be honored after the Tigers’ game at home Wednesday evening. Game time is set for 4:30 as Republic hosts Springfield Catholic.
