Lady Tigers Nab Two More COC Tennis Wins

The Lady Tigers tennis team welcomed two conference opponents to Republic on Tuesday. They sent both home with losses.

Republic throttled Webb City 9-0 in the opener, then edged Nixa 5-4 with a strong singles performance in the nightcap. The Lady Tigers had to come from behind against Nixa, winning four of six singles matches.

“Except for Macie (Thornhill) and Heather (Georges) at #2 doubles,  our doubles teams came out flat and we were down 1-2 going into singles,” says coach Eric Hanson. “Fortunately we got outstanding efforts from Kaitlyn Snyder, Macie Thornhill,  Heather Georges and Molly Womack on the singles side to put us over the top.”

Republic is off to a 5-1 start overall. They’re unbeaten in the Central Ozark Conference at 3-0. The Lady Tigers host COC newcomer Carl Junction Thursday.
