The Lady Tigers advanced to the district semifinals with a shortened sweep of Springfield Parkview Monday night. Republic’s top two doubles teams — Kaitlyn Snyder and Kaytlin Pearce, and Heather Georges and Macie Thornhill — both swept their doubles opponents.
Because Parkview had only four players, they entered the night by conceding three of the scheduled matches, meaning they had to win five of the six matches that would be played. As soon as Republic won both doubles matches, they clinched the victory and advanced.
Republic will play Kickapoo Tuesday at Gillenwaters Tennis Complex in Springfield in the district semifinals.
