Republic’s wrestling squad brought home two individual championships and a runner-up finish at Fort Zumwalt East this weekend. The Tigers finished eighth overall, out of 24 teams.
Michael Taylor (15-1) pinned six of his eight opponents, running through the tournament unbeaten in the 113-pound division to win the title. Hunter Pyle (12-1) was also undefeated in winning the 195-pound bracket.
Julian Richardson suffered just one loss — dropping a major decision in the championship match against undefeated Jack Marak of Parkway South to take second place at 220 pounds.
