Freshman Boys Beat Carthage in OT

The Republic freshman boys scored 10 straight points in overtime to beat Carthage 53-47.

Carthage scored four points in the final 10 seconds of regulation to force the extra period. After Carthage scored the first bucket of overtime, Republic reeled off 10 straight to take control.

Jake Smith led the Tigers with 12 points.

7th Graders Take OFL Title

DuvallThe 7th grade Republic Tigers are champions of the Ozarks Football League.  They captured the title Thursday night by beating Central 22-0.

Three first-half touchdowns were all the Tigers needed to put the game away.  Jace Duvall rushed for one touchdown, and Jake Smith threw for two more, connecting with Zack Jester and Devin Smith for scores.  Jerney Jones had an interception for the Tigers, who finished the spring season undefeated.

The 8th grade Tigers were also in the championship game, but they fell to Kickapoo 20-0.  James Desjardins had an interception for Republic.
