Tigers Hit the Field at Jamboree

The Tigers got their first look at live competition during their annual 4-team jamboree in Camdenton Friday. Republic, Camdenton, Marshfield and Eldon participated. Afterwards, I talked to coach Kurt Thompson about his impressions.

Tigers Pull Away at Marshfield

The Republic Tigers dominated the 4th quarter, pulling away in a close game for a 69-49 win over Marshfield Friday night.  The Tigers trailed 32-28 at halftime, but outscored the Blue Jays 22-13 in the 3rd quarter to take a 5-point lead.  Republic turned it on in the final period, outscoring Marshfield 19-4, to account for the final 20-point margin.

Sophomore Nick Yocum led Republic with 18 points.  Two other Tigers scored in double figures – Josh Morrow with 14 and Dylan Fletcher with 11.

Utah Findley scored 18 points to lead Marshfield.

The win improves Republic’s overall record to 10-3.  They’re 2-1 in the Central Ozark Conference.

The 7th grade boys had a big night against Marshfield. The A team won 20-6, and the B team won big, too (36-0?). Running back Zach Jester had a big night.

The freshman team lost to Waynesville 42-14.

UPDATE: The 8th grade teams both won at Marshfield last night. The A team won 20-0, and the B team won in a thriller, 12-6. They scored a touchdown as time expired.
