Lady Tigers Fall to Top-Ranked Webb City
The Republic Lady Tigers struggled against the full-court pressure of top-ranked Webb City, and ended their season with a loss in the sectional round of the playoffs, 60-34. From the beginning, the Lady Cardinals used stifling full-court pressure to force turnovers and get easy baskets. After the Lady Tigers took a 3-2 lead, Webb City rattled off 17 points in a row. They led 23-6 at the end of the 1st quarter.
The 2nd quarter was the lone bright spot for Republic. They fought back to close the gap to 13 at one point, and trailed by 14 at the half, 33-19.
But Webb City dominated in the 2nd half, building a 20-point lead through three quarters, and outscoring Republic 14-8 in the final period.
Senior Kayce Duvall was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers, with 9 points. Courtney Gardner had 6, Sarah Kreul had 5, and Kyla Fieth and Jayme Sifferman scored 4 apiece.

They showed big improvement in every aspect of their game in Tuesday’s win.

For Webb City, Kaitlin Jaeger had five kills.
