The media’s all-state selections looked a lot like the coach’s selections, and that means more honors for the Republic basketball program.
Girls coach Kris Flood was named the Class 4 Coach of the Year by Missouri’s newspaper writers and broadcasters. Junior Alice Heinzler was selected to the all-state first team, and junior Sarah Kreul was selected to the second team.
Republic’s Nick Yocum was also named to the all-state first team, earning all-state honors for the second straight year.
The voters also put Republic 7th in the overall year-end boys rankings. District competitors Hillcrest (2nd) and Rogersville (6th) and Marshfield (10th) were also ranked in the top ten.
