Sophomore Ryan Way improved on his personal best by 13 seconds, and earned all-state honors with a 7th place finish in the 3200-meter run at the Class 3 state track meet Friday. Way finished in 9:42.48. That shaved 23 seconds off his best time this season.
A day later, Way competed but did not place in the top 8 in the 1600-meter run.
The all-state designation was the second of the school year for Way, who was named to the all-state team in cross-country last fall.
Republic’s other competitor, Sarah Kreul, finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 105 feet.
