Sophomore Sara Marcotte helped the Republic girls soccer team reach a new milestone when she earned honorable mention All-State honors for her play this spring. All-state players are chosen by the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association. Marcotte is the first Republic player to earn all-state recognition.
Fellow sophomore Sierra Casagrand joins Marcotte on the all-region team, marking another first for the two-year-old Republic girls program. The all-region team covers southwest and central Missouri.
The only other Central Ozarks Conference player in Class 2 to receive all-state recognition was sophomore Elizabeth Harris of Bolivar, who also took honorable mention.
