Being named to an all-state team is one of the highest individual honors a high school athlete can achieve. Doing it twice is rare. Doing it three times? That’s Sarah Kreul. Last year, she added all-state volleyball and basketball honors to her previous appearance on the all-state track and field squad.
Kreul was named to the all-state squad in basketball by both the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association and the state’s sportswriters after the 2011-2012 season. She earned all-state volleyball recognition on the second team, selected by the state’s volleyball coaches.
Kreul was an all-state track athlete competing in the discus during her sophomore season.
She’ll be back in Republic uniform(s) again for one more year, but for 2011-2012, you voted her accomplishments the #5 story of the year.
