Girls Take 4th of 31 at MSU Relays

532701 374700542647650 1460513262 nOn a cold, windy day at Missouri State University, the Republic girls track team continued its hot streak. The Lady Tigers, competing without Sarah Kreul in the discus and shot put, still managed to finish 4th out of 31 teams. The Aldo Sebben Relays at MSU are annually one of the biggest track-and-field events in the state.

Again, it was the youngsters who led the way for Republic. Brooke Stanfield won the 200- and 400-meter dashes, and finished 5th in the 100-meters. Republic’s coaches kept her out of the high jump because of slick conditions and the risk of injury.

Megan Hergesheimer won the 3200-meter run and finished 5th in the 1600-meter run.

Abby Norris finished 5th in the 400-meter.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Hergesheimer, Abby Norris, Rachel Allen and Kayla Bartelsmeyer finished 4th.

The Republic boys placed 12th overall. They were led by senior Garrett Metscher, who finished 2nd in the high jump and 3rd in the triple jump.

Ryan Way took 2nd place in the 1600-meter run.

Dalton Golding took 8th in the 800-meter run.
