Republic’s Dylan Bekemeier shot an even-par 72 at Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin to win the Class 4 District 6 championship Monday.
Bekemeier beat the rest of the field by three strokes, ahead of runner-up David Bennett of Branson, who shot a +3 75. John Fuchs of Kickapoo and Christopher Obert of Glendale finished in a tie for 3rd at +4.
Bekemeier advances to the sectional tournament on May 12 at Carthage Municipal Golf Course.
Bekemeier is trying to return to the state tournament for a 3rd consecutive season. He won the Class 3 state championship as a sophomore two years ago.
