Tigers & Pirates “Smash ALS”

The Republic and Branson tennis teams battled on the courts, but what happened off the court was more significant. Before Branson’s 8-1 victory commenced, the teams paused to honor the memory of Republic’s Stephen Nacy, who lost his battle with ALS last year. Both teams wore shirts specially designed for the Smash ALS fundraiser, and the teams raised more than $1,400 for ALS research and awareness.

When the matches began, Branson was in control. Republic won just one match — that was by Case Birlew in singles, 8-3 over Matthew Coleman.
